Tait 'Basket Pressed' Shiraz 2003

Quick Overview

15 years on and this wine shows little sign of slowing down. It has retained some of its brooding nature but overall it shows class and style. Tannins have softened and integrated nicely delivering a wine of effortless enjoyment.  A very food-friendly wine that will show best with grilled meats and tomato-based pasta dishes.

93pts - Wine Advocate - An even bigger effort, the 2003 Shiraz is a more ageworthy prospect. This big, rich, classic Barossa Shiraz reveals notes of blackberries, cassis, toasty new oak (new and used American wood is utilized) along with huge depth, a chewy, viscous texture, and loads of fruit, glycerin, and power. It should age nicely for a dozen years or more.
