Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Quick Overview

96pts - Jeremy Oliver

95pts - James Halliday

94pts - The Wine Front

"Deep dark ruby red in colour, typically ripe & sumptuous, with a confiture-like array of blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, mulberry & dark plum flavour handsomely cloaked in cedar/vanilla oak & coated by exceptionally fine, dusty & powdery tannin. Scented with violets & dried herbs, it’s heady & perfumed. Smooth & silky, it finishes with exemplary length & depth of cassis and berry-like fruit, a hint of warmth & a light mineral presence. Powerful, statuesque & assertive, it’s very impressively balanced." - Jeremy Oliver

"Impeccably balanced....Violets, mint, gravel, blackcurrant, salt, dried herbs – & a slow swoosh of vanillin. Quite a bit of tannin – again, a bit more ardent than usual. Really classy wine. Carries an olive-like, woody hit on the finish – which is most beguiling." - The Wine Front
