Established in the 6th century, the Baronnie du Breuil is the oldest vineyard in the Médoc wine region. Purchased by the Vialard family in 1985, Château du Breuil vineyard benefits from an outstanding location situated adjacent to Chateau-Cissac. It prospers in a valley dominated by the Château Lafite on one side and by Château Cos d’Estournel on the other. Size of the vineyard : 20 hectares made up of clay and limestone, planted with 7200 vines per hectare. Average annual production : 120,000 bottles
Grape varieties : 54% Cabernet Sauvignon 43% Merlot 3% Petit Verdot. Average age of vines : 20 years root stock.
Wine-making: thermo regulated fermentation in stainless steel vats, aging for 12 months in French and American oak barrels 10% of which are new.

Dark and deep palate of bittersweet chocolate, mulberry and ripe blackberry with earthy notes of caramel, smoke and leather. Floral hints of violets and chamomile. Beautiful structure, well integrated mellow tannins and a long finish>
